Göltürkbükü,
the quiet and pure bay of years ago, witnessed
an incredible development at the end of
the 90s. We witnessed this development altogether.
Our site has come up as a result of this
development.
It is unavoidable to stop and look
back where we stand right now and solve
some problems we left untouched during the
fast development. People who were caught
by the wind of the fast development got
involved with eating the cherry on top.
Houses which remind palaces, hotels whose
likes are seen elsewhere very rarely, the
famous clubs of Istanbul’s night life all
have located themselves at good places.
Money was spent like there was no future.
The hurry of trying to get an advantage
soon, made people’s feet to get entangled
to each other. It’s because the infrastructure
was not completed and because the capacity
of the municipality could not go any further
than to serve the villagers. The latest
model cars were wrecked in streets full
of potholes and dust, sea water mixed into
home water, a hotel’s sewage pipes burst
open in front of another hotel, sewage leaked
into the sea instead of filtered water due
to the insufficiency of the filter plant,
the power supply, which was hardly enough
for the villagers, became completely insufficient,
planes that land in the bay, 130 foot boats
which access the wooden quays back in, Jet
Skis which bring people close to death everyday,
speed boats whose owners think they drive
in their own pools, people who were crazy
enough to pour drinks and throw snacks on
geese swimming in the sea, we have been
alarmed and woken up by the contributions
of these people. The music that comes from
the immensely powerful loudspeakers of the
nightclubs till the morning, loud enough
to be heard from the Greek Islands was enthusiastic
like the celebration of an invasion. Sometimes
we got angry sometimes we did not care,
because we were there too.
Those live here and those who invest
here realized something very well at the
end of last summer: that Göltürkbükü is
the most elite holiday resort in Turkey
and it is necessary to keep it live by protecting
it, because growing without completing the
infrastructure, cleaning the sea after it
is polluted and bringing the people back
after they go away would be too costly.
I was very pleased to see that everyone
who I talked to before the beginning of
this summer, everyone who loves Göltürkbükü,
and who invests in there share the same
conciousness with me. It is very nice to
see that all the complaints that rained
to our site throughout the year, the pressures
of the Office of the Mayor and the warnings
of the media have a positive
consequence in the end. I hope that we won’t
be confused like last year under the effect
of the overwhelming speed of summer!
I believe that if we do not get confused,
Göltürkbükü where 90% of the Turkish population
spends their vacations at will be the window
opening to the world soon. Don’t you think
that it deserves this with its natural location,
hotels, nightlife, sincere people and its
weether keeping you warm four seasons? With
wishes of a warm summer full of love and
entartainment,
Sincerely
yours,
Emir
