Dear
Mr.Emir,
We
follow your works with appreciation. It’s
our wish that the shore of Türkbükü gets
a nicer look. I believe our shore will have
a total new look if the businesses by the
shore spend '100.000.000 TL/business' to
have geraniums in big pots in front of them.
Best
regards
Levent

Enough of it!
1.
Fish farms should get out of the village.
2. It must be followed closely that boats
do not damp their bilge water and if so,
heavy penalties should apply. Moreover they
must be sued by the municipality or persons.
3. The municipality should quit digging
everywhere and leave it like that. They
should dig where they’ll finish completely.
4. I do not know how the speeding can be
controlled in and between Gölköy and Türkbükü
in summer. At least the gendarme can write
couple of fines at the beginning of the
season and make a tolerated (!) alcohol
check.
5. It must be ensured that the boats and
the jetskis do not speed near the shore.
The hotels and the beach-clubs can warn
their customers too. We cannot expect everything
from the municipality or the gendarme because
their resources are limited.
6. The amateur fishing enthusiasts including
kids who try to hunt fish with harpoons
where the people swim in shallow waters
and who target them towards people must
be warned before they shoot someone.
7. Stray dogs are increasing in numbers.
Those cute dogs that are the symbols of
Göltürkbükü turn into monsters when they
gather at night and attack our youngsters
and kids coming back from beach clubs and
similar places. Who takes care of these
dogs is a mystery. They are not vaccinated,
of course. There is no such nonsense as
dogs without owners anywhere in the
world. And I don’t know how the nonsense
of dogs with owners can be stopped from
walking around free without colars in beaches,
restaurants and bars and from going in the
sea and shake themselves dry while wetting
people. I love dogs, but since my house
in the village is in a complex of residences,
I do not have the opportunity to put a fence
around my garden, therefore I cannot have
a dog. One can not be an animal lover just
by feeding them when come across with them
on the street or giving them fish head or
bones from the dinner table.

sincerely

Hi,
I
believe you must be congratulated for your
nice and successful work of introducing
Göltürkbükü and the surrounding region,
congratlations... I have to state as a member
of the teaching staff of a university that,
although almost every state organization
has its own holiday resort where the staff
can go either by getting in line or through
withdrawals,
universities in Turkey have never got budgets
for such places...I hope that the Association
of Higher Education (YÖK) can focus on it
and I/we would like your attention on the
subject too since you carry works on such
subjects and we believe in your sincerity!
Why shouldn’t offers be taken to universities
for establishing holiday resorts for such
a region like Göltürkbükü which has not
lost its natural beauty and will struggle
not to lose it.. or why not have special
accommodation prices to get the focus of
a certain group of conscious people and
to support the above mentioned efforts...?!.
You can be assured that where there is science,
knowledge and social conscience, there are
and will be positive developments..
I hope that you will take my humble suggestion
objectively and wish you success in your
struggle to stick with to goals..
Sincerely, respects..

Hi,
First
of all, I would like to thank for the existence
and colorfulness of the site. I think this
is the most important thing for the start.
What
kind of Göltürkbükü do we want?
-
A more modern, Southern French Mediterranean
town in which there are no problems about
infrastructure and street?
- Or a place in which cows and dogs chase
after one another like our local friends
complain about?
- Or a jungle in which both of these styles
exist?
If
you ask me, the worst is the third condition
that we live in now. This is the reason
why we are all guilty. I go to this region
at least 5-6 times a year, stay 4-5 days
each time and spend approximately one month
per year in total: Every departure is a
real sorrow until the next time...
Let
us come to suggestions. What can we do together?
Let us decide what kind of place GÖLTÜRKBÜKÜ
will be? Let us determine the capacity of
the region in numbers. How much of it is
used? How many boats can stay in two bays?
What is this number in the hot season? Is
there an authority or an office in charge?
Is there a sanction?
Let’s
find a sample regulatory program; with a
complete infrastructure; from car park to
disabled restrooms, from marina to tourism
office; is there such a sample plan in Turkey?
If there is let’s look at it, if not let’s
buy it from Italy, from France. Now you’ll
ask me how we will buy it? With what? Who
will buy it? Answer is: How is the M2 land
prices at the region right now? How much
is the accommodation prices in dollars?
We people who have made use of such services
with such prices linked mountains to each
other with lifts, with lifts you can pass
from one country to another... Please...
Let’s
get together and found a board. Let’s join
it. I am ready to come fron Geneva to join
each meeting... Let’s see what is going
to happen?
Regards
and sincere wishes

Hello, this is Levent, I am writing from
New York and receive your e-mails all the
time which make me very happy. Thanks a
lot. I hope one day I will come over for
vacation with a group of my friends. I would
like to ask a question; how is the nature
in Turkey now? I have not been to Turkey
for 6 years because of my job. I see some
bare and treeless areas in your pictures,
is there any work and time spent for green
areas and are people conscious about this?
Thanks,
Levent
Dear Sir,
As a summer resident of Gölköy, I am extremely
disturbed by the latest developments. I
want back the village in which geese, chickens
and cows walked in the streets. Our new
mayor wanted to contribute to Gölköy with
his own values, but unfortunately this place
has become a standard polluted entertainment
center. The reason the star of the Gölköy
shone, however, was because of its virginity.
Let us go back from this mistake and save
Gölköy from becoming a place for discos
and restaurants.

TO THE DESIGNER OF THIS PAGE;
This is a web - page which shows how far
the imagination and efforts of people will
go. As a matter of fact, I had a warm feeling
when I first looked at the page. You know,
there are coffee shops in villages by the
sea and people meet there and talk. They
share their problems, talk about the ones
they love, loves are lived and fights take
place there, and everything happens at that
coffee shop in the village square because
it is the easiest place to find everyone
who live in that village. It is at the center
of the village and everywhere can easily
be seen from where it is. Those who pass
by cannot do without saying hi in the least....
These are the kind of feelings your page
has aroused in me.
I
hope your success continues. Keep the good
work....

Noise pollution of Havana Club poisoned
our vacation again contrary to all promises.
All the large discos at the island of Cos
are indoors. I do not know why we have to
live according to the wishes of the outlaws
in Göltürkbükü. Do they want to kill our
village?
Robert
Finn (General Consulate of the U.S.A.)
Hi,
We got back to Istanbul after a hot summer.
We will go to stay for a few more days if
we can in the very near future. Yes, the
noise, infrastructure problems, sea pollution
are our common problems. We have expected
the solutions from the gendarme and the
municipality. Unfortunately, we did not
do anything and maybe increased the noise
problem by going to these places.
I
have a suggestion on a subject thath disturbs
me, which will help to solve infrastructure
problems. I live in Gölköy for about 4 months
per year. Since the house I live in does
not have a settlement permission, I cannot
pay the estate or the trash tax (even if
I did, the share of the municipality is
ridiculous). As you can understand, I am
of no benefit for the municipality where
I live for 4 months. I am sure there are
a lot of people like me. Moreover, I do
not think places such as x-y-z contribute
significantly either. People come from outside,
fill some space, use the infrastructure,
pay hundreds of millions for bills and their
contribution for the municiplality is 0.
At
least;
- Parking lots should charge 1 million TL
per car
- I believe no one will object to pay 2
million per deck chairs and umbrellas to
be paid to the association or the municipality.
It is necessary to analyze the legal aspect
of this, of course. Supervising this can
be made by people like us who volunteer
to contribute. I am ready for it. Serious
money will be earned which will contribute
to the municipality greatly.
I
do not know if you have noticed that especially
taxis and sewage trucks exceed the speed
limit to be able to give more frequent service:
Taking precautions will prevent serious
accidents.
That
is it from me for the day, I am ready to
work as a volunteer when I am there.

Hello Göltürkbükü,
I
met you eight years ago, You had geese,
sea stars, sounds of waves and big mountains...
Only the geese of Ship-Ahoy turned out to
be enduring. We dirtied the sea and threw
raki glasses in it, cut off the trees which
were already a few to make rooms for ourselves...
as the neighbours increased in number, you
have changed too. I am at school in Switzerland
and preparing my thesis on how to save you
and show you as an example for your sister
town Kas to act cautiously from the beginning.
I have fit your wishes in ten thousand words,
tell me about your problems, your wishes.
We can make it*
I HOPE YOU WILL STAY AS YOU ARE,

URGENT HELP NEEDED…
Türkbükü
smells terribly. Find a very fast solution,
at least a temporary one until the end of
this season. It is now impossible to eat
at restaurants and quays on the shore of
Türkbükü. We have already given up swimming
in the sea. All the kids catch diseases
and every time a kid gets sick, the local
doctors say that they got viruses from the
sea and they should not go in the sea. It
is no joke anymore. All those investments
will be wasted. Türkbükü is getting more
desolate everyday if you have noticed. Those
who come for the fisrt time do not know
these facts, but when they have their first
dinner here, they realize what is going
on, unfortunately they are already here.
As far as I know, there is supposed to be
100 meters for the benefit of the public
in sea and shores, but if you go to Türkbükü
you see the arrogance of one of the hotels.
To enlarge the bar of the hotel, they cut
the road with canvas; you are right, people
have to walk in the sea. WHERE ARE THE AUTHORITIES?
WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN?
SEMA
ÇELEBI
Emir,
I want to thank you first for drawing attention
to such an issue. I totally agree with your
thoughts and ideas. I think the ones that
pollute the sea are mainly the restaurants,
the hotels and the yachts. Yachts must never
be allowed to stay overnight in the bay.
The bilge water of these yachts is probably
dumped at night. I also have serious doubts
about how far the sewage of the hotels is
dumped. The sewage pipes must be checked
urgently and the hotels who do not comply
must be punished with serious monetary fines
or closing down for the season. Everybody
waits for a solution for the sewage pipe,
which bursts up near Ship Ahoy every year.
Although having meals on the quay in an
elegant atmosphere is pleasant, I think
where the rubbish of these restaurants go
must be checked by the authorities and those
who do not comply with the rules must be
punished by such heavy fines like closing
down for the season. Thank you for caring
for one of the most beautiful bays in the
world.

Hello,
My
name is Yalçın Yılmazkaya. I was in Göltürkbükü
last week. I, too witnessed the pollution
the fast change cause. Since I am 45 years
old, I am one of those who witnessed the
pollution and loss of Sea Marmara. I think
it is better to come up with solutions instead
of looking for who is guilty... Our problem
is to consider what we should do in big
projects and act without setting goals and
without measuring our efforts on the way
towards the goal. If you divide your job
into small pieces, it will be easier to
achieve. I am one of those who believe that
the times in which expecting everything
from the state and the local authorities
is over. I have also learned that no one
does anything without expecting anything
in return.
I
am in favor of small victories instead of
fighting windmills. These small victories
have two benefits: 1. If success is marketed
good, support for new projects (monetary
and political) can be gained easier. 2.
Those who succeed feel stronger and more
capable for a new project.
I
have found out that there are 3000 touring
boats in Bodrum. Each boat is charged only
360 Million TL hawser rent. The daily revenue
of a boat is 500 - 800 USD! Yet they have
problems about the services they receive.
Moreover, there is not a system to dump
the bilge water in the port. The boats are
willing to pay more money for the services
they receive. (Provided they get good service)
Here is a problem for you, which is not
too difficult to solve (an opportunity).
We may be able to prevent the marina’s pollution
to a certain degree. What do you think?
Sincerely,
Yalçın
Yılmazkaya
Hi to everyone,
I have been following the Göltürkbükü site
with joy like you do since the day it was
presented to the virtual milieu. No wonder,
since the creator of the site is my friend.I
have witnessed how the site got stronger
and stronger every day. I wanted to contribute
because I believe in the purpose and content
of the site and in its help to the Turkish
tourism and also such an activity will create
a unity between people.

Extremely
successful and to the point. Congratulations.
I forwarded it to many people. It would
be useful to have a section on the preservation
of the nature of golturkbuku, precautions
against the dumping of boats to the bay
and security strips for speed boats and
jet skis. I can't remember if you already
have such a section.

are one of the people who know and live
in Gölköy for 18 years.
We congratulate you for your effort on the
Web site.
Being one of the people who know that region
well, I think that your web site, especially
the content and pictures have not matured
yet on some aspects. My heart wishes that
natural, local and authentic values of the
area are introduced more than the daily
and popular information .
I believe issues on sea and noise pollution
affecting the beautiful shores enormously
for the profit expectations of some people
must be focused on attentively and effectively
on this site.
Authentic beauties of Göltürkbükü coming
from the past must be preserved to be transferred
to future; they must not be knocked down,
corrupted and polluted any more.
